QUEENSRYCHE

Queensryche is my favorite band of ALL TIME!

.

But I must admit that I lost the good feeling the last -let’s say- 10 years.

Should I feel sorry? I don’t know!

The world is sure about one thing although... Operation Mindcrime is their best album ever!

Sorry, I don’t agree. I am a RAGE FOR ORDER-fan, the second full studio album the band ever released, I think it was somewhere mid july 1986. That year I reviewed that album and called it “The album of the Year” and said at the end that musicians and fans would still look at it as THE groundbreaking album ten years later, so in 1996. Right know we are almost 30 years later and I still consider RAGE FOR ORDER as one of the most  groundbreaking album in rock!

I did meet the band some months before  they released their irst time. At that period managed by Kim and Diana Harris, a couple who did run a local recordstore in the US. They loved their music so much, that they decided to manage the band. I remember those meetings mid ’85 as the day as it was yesterday!

The official iTunes biography tells us that “after a handful of ignored albums... the band began to break into the mainstream with the acclaimed 1988 album Operation/Mindcrime”.

Well I would like to talk today about that handful of “ignored albums”... I guess iTunes is talking about the magic first Queensryche ep, The Warning and Rage for Order. Talk is a “too big” word, just let me schedule you the playlist of Queensryche’s concert in Mons...

I GUESS THAT SAYS ALL!

I am a Geoff Tate fan, always was... Always will be!

But this line-up with Todd La Torre on vocals convinced me in a way, the “old” Queensryche didn’t do anymore since sooo many years.

We saw Todd fronting Crimson Glory before and all we can say is, he is the perfect guy for this band with Michael Wilton, Scott Rockenfield, Eddie Jackson and Parker Lundgren just standing one step behind him.

I love Tate’s voice, was always a big fan of Rudy Sarzon... And... and... and...

But this line-up of the “other” QUEENSRYCHE totally convinced me!

The joy they showed on stage, the joy they seem to have found back in rock music and especially also in their OWN music.

And -once more- their choice of songs.

If the new album followes this trent, all I can say is: It will be damn difficult to impress more!

Can’t wait for the new album, can’t way for their next show!

QUEENSRYCHE IS BACK AND THE WORLD SHOULD KNOW IT!
